Overview
These Payment Terms govern all financial transactions made through the Roofing Source platform. By using the platform, all parties agree to these terms in full.
Platform Fee Structure
Roofing Source charges placement fees to Hirers only. Operatives always receive their full agreed day rate without deduction.
The fee structure is as follows:
First 2 days of any placement — 30% platform fee
Weekly rate (days 3 to 7) — 20% platform fee
After 7 days continuous placement — 15% platform fee
Subcontractor contracts — 5% flat fee on total contract value
Fee Calculation Example
An operative working at £200 per day for 10 days:
Days 1-2: £400 operative cost + £120 platform fee = £520
Days 3-7: £1,000 operative cost + £200 platform fee = £1,200
Days 8-10: £600 operative cost + £90 platform fee = £690
Total hirer cost: £2,410
Total operative receives: £2,000
Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through Stripe Connect. Roofing Source does not store card details. Payment is due within 24 hours of placement confirmation.
Operatives are paid within 2 business days of payment clearing, minus any applicable taxes the operative is responsible for as a self-employed contractor.
Late Payment
Invoices unpaid after 7 days will incur a late payment charge of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Refunds and Disputes
Placement fees are non-refundable once an operative has commenced work. If a placement is cancelled before commencement, a cancellation fee of 50% of the first day rate applies to cover platform and operative costs.

Anti-Circumvention
Hiring an operative outside the platform within 6 months of introduction through Roofing Source constitutes a breach of the Anti-Circumvention Agreement. The penalty is £500 per operative per breach plus the full platform fee that would have applied.
VAT
Roofing Source platform fees are subject to VAT at the standard rate where applicable. VAT invoices are issued automatically through the platform.
Currency
All transactions are processed in Great British Pounds (GBP).
Governing Law
These Payment Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
